Aparna Vaidik is the Associate Professor of History at Ashoka University, India. She previously taught at Georgetown University and the University of Delhi. She studied at St. Stephen’s College and the University of Cambridge and received her PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University. Her first monograph Imperial Andaman: Colonial Encounter and Island History was published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2010. Her creative non-fiction My Son’s Inheritance: A Secret History of Lynching and Blood Justice was published by Aleph in 2020 and another monograph Waiting for Swaraj: Inner Lives of Indian Revolutionaries will be published by Cambridge University Press in 2021. She contributes regularly to newspapers and journals.
