Jerry Pinto is a poet, writer, editor and translator who lives and works in a city by the sea. He has written Em and the Big Hoom, which has been translated in Marathi, Tamil, Italian and French. He has won the Windham-Campbell Award administered by the Beinecke Library, Yale, USA and the Sahitya Akademi Award besides the Crossword Award for Fiction and the Hindu Lit for Life award. His last novel Murder in Mahim won the REC-VOW award at the Dehradun Literary Festival and his translation of Baburao Bagul’s When I Hid My Caste and Other Stories won an award for fiction at the Bangalore Literary Festival.
