Sandhya Prabhat is an independent animator and illustrator, originally from Chennai, India and currently resides in the Bay Area, United States. Sandhya Prabhat is the illustrator of I Am Brown, a children’s book that embraces and celebrates skin colour. She holds an MFA degree in Animation and Digital Arts from NYU Tisch School of the Arts Asia, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Literature from Stella Maris College. Sandhya has illustrated several children’s books such as A Sari for Ammi, Ignore the Trolls, and The Colour Thief.
She is passionate about illustrating picture books, animating for film and TV, and making stickers for social media.
